Trinity College

Since our program’s relaunch in 2014, Capitol Squash has been based at Trinity College. Both academic and squash sessions take place in Trinity’s Ferris Athletic Center.

Trinity students volunteer with both tutoring and squash sessions. The second oldest college in Connecticut also boasts the country’s strongest squash program, with its women’s and men’s teams winning a combined 19 national team championships since 1999. Trinity’s men’s team holds the longest winning streak in the history of college athletics.

partner schools

Capitol Squash relies on its close relationships with school partners. We primarily recruit students from the Dr. Michael D. Fox School, Grace Academy, and Covenant Preparatory School. We work closely with the teachers and administrators at Covenant, Grace, and Fox to stay abreast of our students’ academic development.

As students move to different schools, we continue to offer them the same support. Our students now attend over 20 different public, magnet, parochial, and private schools in the Hartford area.

Capitol Squash also partners with Miss Porter’s School in Farmington to host our program’s four-week summer program.

celebrating a successful partnership with trinity

“We are delighted to celebrate our five-year anniversary of teaming up with Capitol Squash to positively impact the lives of all their program participants. Through this partnership, we have been able to celebrate Trinity’s triumphant relationship with the sport of squash, and share a passion for education and competition with youth and their families from our home community of Hartford.”
Joanne Berger-Sweeney
President, Trinity College
“Our institution places a high value on the continued partnership between Trinity Athletics and Capitol Squash. We recognize the importance of creating inclusive opportunities for children from Hartford to learn and play. Capitol Squash is meeting that need for so many young people in our community and we relish the chance to not only continue our relationship but build upon it by creating a space that allows those students to reach their potential.”
Drew Galbraith
Director of Athletics, Trinity College
“The collaboration between Trinity College and Capitol Squash is powerful and life changing. To see our players work with the young people of Hartford and feel so good about themselves is reinforcing. To see the young people gain confidence and truly believe that they can do something special with their lives makes this program one of the very best things that happens in the Kellner Squash Center.”
